App is basically what it says above, very nice, and goes really well as Desktop background. High definition, which of course is always a bonus :) However, the only thing Id sometimes find a bit annoying is that the hour and minute indicators are not clearly distinguishable from the mechanics of the clock. Apart form that, 5 stars all day!!

Hi, there is one thing that bothers me. The Roman numeral for four is IV and not IIII ! G, D

I love it very much: The sound, the bells, all. The iiii for IV ist correct and someone should contact Wiki etc. and then he knows.

Nice concept. Need to be able to costumize more. seconds tics: too fast (two per second). chimes: need option of selecting hourly, half hour, quarter... also to be able to choose from more than one chime. Also add option of selecting seconds ticks only without chimes Also, icon is always in dock bar if app is active, would be usefull if can remove it from dock bar.

I love the way it looks on my destop. Being a guy who loves to tinker with clocks, I appreciate the work that went into the graphics and animation. What I would like to see added would be better chime sounds and a more convincing “Tick Tock” sound. I much prefer the chime sound in the “Foley“ folder in the Apple Audio Loops folder in the Library. Also, I would prefer if the author would provide the option to select the ticking without the chime and visa versa. As it is now, I find the ticking sound irritating so I have it turned off and use the “Foley” chime set in the Date and Time Preferences pane. To really make this a greater program, on my wish list would be to add the ability to choose Westminster, Coventry or Whittington chimes on the hour, half hour and quarter hour with a convincing sound from a really large clock tower!

This application is so cool. I just cant believe how real it seems. It has that traditional feel and aspect to it. Love the tick and chime on the half hour and the full hour. Another awesome app. Thanks

I dont know how you could simulate a clock better. The ticking, chimes & watching the inner workings is stunning! Great concept , looks great when computer is plugged in. mac looses 5 hours of battery with this app and has 50% cpu usage.

Nice application. Some problems occured by the installation but than program runs ok. Very esthetic clock panel. For enthusiasts of old fashion. I like it.

unable to hide app icon from dock (why I have to get it there?) does not register as a system screensaver (why I have to run it?) occupies CPU (about 4% of i5 without wallpaper (cant believe in this), and 12% when clock ticks)

Sarebbe bello poter decidere se far battere il quarto dora e la mezzora dalle perferenze. Veramente piacevole. Mi piacciono molto gli orologi meccanici. --- Should be useful to decide to beat also half hours and quarter from preferences. Very good app. I love mechanical clocks!

Very good app, but there is an error: the number 4 in roman is IV, not IIII !!! Note to the author, just correct this little issue and your app is 5 stars!

I really like this App, but now that I have 2 Thunderbolt displays, I see it is not without flaws. Everyday one clock does not show up on one of my monitors, it just shows a clock on one and a black screen on the other. I hope they fix this because I’d like to give a 5 star rating but I can’t now. Cheer!

I have been using this clock as the screen saver on my iMac for over a year with no problems. I work from home and after my mantel clock bit the dust, I found that I missed the hourly chimes. This app became a good substitute. Although it does not chime when the computer is in sleep mode, it does chime when I’m working at my home desk. Everyone who pass by my computer always compliments the unique design of the clock, and it makes me keep my desktop clear of clutter so I can see it. It has become my new “mantel” clock. I am thankful that you can turn off the ticking sound. I use the silver version because it matches my iMac.

!!!WOW!!! I would gladly hack this review software just to give this clock ver. 1.3.1 (3) SIX stars and a heart IF only the chimes and bongs worked properly. At 6 PM I get two quarter chimes and six bongs, 6:15 PM silence, 6:30 PM no chimes - one bong, 6:45 PM silence, 7 PM two quarter chimes - seven bongs, 7:15 PM silence, 7:30 PM one bong, 7:45 PM silence, 8 PM two quarter chimes - eight bongs. Oh, I see a pattern here but not a Big Ben pattern. As a simple workaround I set the “No sound” option in this app and then installed Clock Chimes app (no graphics just Westminister chimes/bongs) to run in the background - they sync beautifully together but I much prefer the Big Ben chimes/bongs sounds in this app. UPDATE: MY MISTAKE. Because the chimes sound just like the Big Ben bells, I expected the Big Ben patterns of bell strikes like most grandfather clocks also have. 3Planesoft support just responded to let me know that my Mechanical Clock 3D chime patterns are actually working as designed (a pattern I have never heard before) and have little to do with Big Ben.

I’ve been using this app as my wallpaper/screen saver on all my macs (home & work) for nearly two years. Love it, love it, love it!!! I get lots of positive comments on it when people see it for the first time. Highly recommended!

I got this back when Hugo came out. I still love it. I’ve never had any problem with it, and it makes my desktop look great. Very “steampunk”.

I just love this app, warts and all. I love that I can have and hear the ticking of the second hand, Chimes on the hour and half hour, or not. I love looking at the inner workings of the clock. A wondrous thing to share with the grand children. I call it my Grandfather Clock. It is better that a real one. First it takes up no space, need no winding and or cleaning and, well, it is one of the things in life that just tickles me. I even enjoy that 4 Oclock is IIII instead of IV. It provides a place for the evil spirits to get out. Ive gotten my moneys worth in just a day or two. The weeks after are all gravy… If you like clocks, then this is one app to have, and did I note that it will show up on dual monitors, or just one, or the other. A very nicely detailed and wondrous thing to have. Enjoy!
